Domaine Vessigaud Pouilly Fuisse

Domain Vessigaud makes a range of wines distinguished not only by their quality, but also by an insistence on farming organically. For their Vieilles Vignes bottling the grapes from 50-80 year old Chardonnay vines are hand-harvested and vinified using a combination of steel tanks, old oak foudres and five-year-old traditional oak barrels with minimal intervention. The nose is intense and full of charm. Aromas of candied pear, elderflower and peach. The palate is powerful, dense, with great length. A modern styled wine with excellent balance and generous depth of flavour.
